Massing Design

Thank you to Natalie and team for the smooth and pleasant reno journey overall : ) We went with Natalie as she was the only ID out of all the IDs that demonstrated her understanding of the eclectic look we were going for, while still adhering to our budget; we also looked at Massing’s years of experience in the industry and their accreditations (e.g. Casetrust, BCA) as positive indicators. Natalie was responsive and calm / positive throughout the reno journey, which was much appreciated especially after seeing all those horror ghosting stories of MIA / passive-aggressive IDs on social media. She and her team were also receptive to our ideas, and put in great efforts to execute them (e.g. they successfully executed our request for a magnetic panel in the living room, with a settee that also houses our short-throw projector). Natalie and team went the extra mile in helping us to liaise with multiple vendors, even for those vendors that were self-sourced (e.g. getting different decorative lights for different shops, hanging up our paintings, assembling our ikea bedframe). She also helped us to settle a complaint from our downstairs neighbour regarding hairline cracks in her painting as a result of our hacking (it’s an old condo) and arranged for painting. She also helped us to save money on unnecessary spendings (e.g. the door vendor wanted to charge us additional few thousands of SGD for oversized doors as our doorways’ heights exceeded the 7-foot limit by a few mm; in the end, Nat and team just added a bit of plaster at the top of the doorway for free to lower the doorway height so we didn’t need to pay for the oversized charge). TLDR Natalie and team gave us peace of mind for the reno. We appreciate this especially since we are working adults with no time to oversee the ins and outs of reno. Heard great things about Massing Design, so we decided to choose them for our renovation. We felt incredibly comfortable with our ID, Fairuz, throughout the entire process. Working with Nabila from Massing Design to create our 2nd home has been an absolute pleasure. Finding a designer who shares your passion and vision can be daunting, but from our first meeting, We knew that we're in good hands. Nabila is the perfect blend of meticulous, patient, and design-forward. We came into the process with a clear vision, but we needed an expert to tie it all together hence we choose Nabila. She led us through every phase of the renovation with sincere care and were incredibly helpful, patient, responsible, and passionate. Me & my wife can be a really indecisive person 😅. We genuinely valued how she constantly provided knowledgeable, clear guidance and greatly facilitated decision-making. She never once made us feel pressured. Instead, she took the time to fully explain our alternatives, enabling us to make confident decisions. We were also impressed by her team of contractors and carpenters. Although there were some hiccups along the way of the renovation, she will get things settled. In addition, she has gone above and above to help us with other tasks, such as placing orders for some of our furniture from Taobao. In order to ensure that everything is correct, she has also put a lot of effort into fixing the areas that needed improvement for our post-reno rectifications. Overall, the renovation process was comparatively smooth, and we are grateful to have found committed and skilled ID like Nabila. We’re very happy with the final outcome!

We engaged massing design as our ID for the renovation of our new house, including design, hacking, flooring & skirting, cornice, carpentry, electrical works, mezzanine, and painting. Overall, we are very satisfied with the service. Dion and his team did their best to accommodate our schedule. Although there were some small delays along the way, Dion and team still managed to complete all the works on time, which allowed us to move in as planned. What we appreciated most was the time he spent with us selecting materials. He was very patient and made a strong effort to find the best combinations to match our existing kitchenette, which made a big difference to the final look of the home. He also took the initiative to organize meetings with subcontractors whenever there were doubts, especially to discuss design and safety matters with the PE. This gave us a lot of confidence in the design decisions and the overall renovation process. We would definitely recommend our ID to anyone planning to renovate their house. Their dedication, professionalism, and proper coordination gave us confidence throughout the project.

Had the pleasure of working with Phyllis and her team! From the initial consultation, she took the time to understand my vision, functional needs, and budget. Every element from color selection and materials to furniture and lighting was thoughtfully considered and seamlessly integrated. She was also very professional and reliable throughout the project. Communication was clear and consistent, timelines were respected, and she was always open to feedback or small changes along the way. Even when I was unsure about certain choices, she patiently walked me through the options and explained why something would or wouldn’t work in the space, just genuinely helpful opinions. The result was a space that is both visually stunning and functional. What truly set her apart was her commitment to quality and her ability to resolve issues asap. There's bound to be hiccups here and there for a big scale project like this, even I myself find it challenging but they were quickly resolved and executed well. She even went beyond by painting parts of the wall herself as I wasn't satisfied with how the paint turned out. The final outcome exceeded expectations and reflected a strong understanding of both principles and client needs. I would highly recommend Phyllis to anyone seeking a skilled and reliable interior designer who delivers thoughtful, elegant, and well-executed results!
